Bernard Juskiewicz

Bernard Juskiewicz was a former Vermont state representative, University of Vermont trustee, and a father to three adult children. His daughter, Mary Kathryn Jusckiewicz, says her dad was an advocate for many, and a friend to even more. He’d always say to her and her brothers: It’s not about you.

"And you know, when we first moved to Vermont, we were the New Yorkers. And we moved to a small town. And so there was a time where you sort of had to prove yourself. And my dad represented Cambridge and Waterville, and it was always about what was good for his constituents. So, he didn’t always align himself with what his party thought. And that was perfectly fine, because that’s what was good for the people of Waterville and Cambridge. It’s always about someone else."

Bernie Juskiewicz died on April 8, 2020. He was 77. After his death, state flags around Vermont were flown at half-mast.
