Bob Burdo
Bob Burdo spent nearly 25 years as a custodian in the Burlington School District. The lifelong Burlingtonian was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, and his daughter Dawn says he loved spending time with his family.
"My dad, he was the greatest guy in the world, you know, he was the best dad. We use to go to his house on weekends and do barbecues and stuff like that. We worked together at Integrated Arts Academy at Wheeler. I loved working with my dad. He actually would come in as I was getting off, but I would go in the office with him, and we would hang out for a half hour, 45 minutes. And sometimes with our busy life those were sometimes my only moments with him. I would do anything right now just to be able to just sit and hold his hand and talk to him, and you know, just tell him how much I love him. We really mattered to him. I want everyone to know how much he mattered to me."
Bob Burdo died on March 30, 2020, five days before his birthday, at Burlington Health and Rehab. He was 77.
