    Leona Gutwin

Leona Gutwin loved to entertain. Her son Paul says she’d invite people over to her home in Burlington at the “drop of a hat.”

""I think there was nothing more that she loved than being in a gaggle of people." Paul says his mom also took up painting as her two sons got older. "The biggest thing she did was flowers. And the kind of the more voluptuous and outrageous the flower was, the more she loved it. She was completely self-taught, and it was the one thing that allowed her to kind of step out of her day-to-day life, and she could literally spend an hour or two. And she used to comment occasionally, she didn't have any fancy words for it, but she would say, ‘Oh, you know, the time just flies by when I paint.’" "

Leona Gutwin died on Dec. 14, 2020 at the Converse Home in Burlington. She was 93.
