Marilyn Hesford

Marilyn Hesford taught in Burlington schools and worked at the University of Vermont Medical Center. And her son Jack says she was well-known throughout their neighborhood.

"All the kids in the neighborhood always came over here. You know, she always had popsicles and stuff for everybody." Jack says in recent years his mom had a habit of leaving him voicemails, like this one: "Hi Jack, it’s me. I was just wondering if you could get me some M&Ms, I’m all out of them, and I can’t go to sleep. I love ya. Talk to you later. Bye-bye. "

Marilyn Hesford died on April 22, 2020 at Birchwood Terrace in Burlington. She was 87.
