    Ralph Swett

Ralph Swett did a lot in Brownington. According to Andrew Swett, Ralph’s son, Ralph also ran The Evansville Trading Post. Andrew, who now runs the store, helped his dad scour New England for things to put in the shop.

"He was justice of the peace, he was a lister, auditor, selectman for, jesus, 30 years almost ... We did auctions, we went to Boston buying stuff, New Hampshire, Waltham went on buying trips and stuff. That was always interesting, ‘cause you never knew what you were going to get or what you bought. So that was fun. We had a lot of good times together." "

Ralph was also an Abenaki leader, heading the Clan of the Hawk. He died at home on Nov. 21, 2020. He was 90.
