The heinous attacks upon our homeland were perpetrated by a foreign enemy.

A former high school classmate was killed - whose little daughter was barely two years of age. My brother's law firm was nearly obliterated. Instead of having more pride nationally - so many in Vermont and the United States decided that our nation needed to somehow "repent" for all its wrongs and we needed to attempt to right the "wrongs" of the entire world as opposed to placing blame where actual blame was due and honoring and forever remembering these unnecessary and horrific losses. The United States, with all its faults (and there always have been many) was not somehow "at fault" for the fact that Muslim extremist terrorists brutally murdered thousands of innocent fellow citizens in this domestic attack 20 years ago! America: Heal thyself. The heinous attacks upon our homeland were perpetrated by a foreign enemy. Merely twenty years later, our nation is now reeling from the plethora of attacks from within itself. The greatest honor we can bestow upon those who lost their lives on Sept. 11 is to renew our oath, our devotion, and our adherence to our Constitution and the freedoms it proffers. To once again, yes, place America first and renew and restore the patriotic duties we owe first to the United States and then to the rest of the world who are willing to graciously accept our beneficence.
